The Celebration Of The Lord's Supper takes place today. This is a blessed expression of the unity of faith we hold at Messiah. Those desiring to be participants at the Lord's Table must (1) Believe that in, with, and under the bread and wine they receive the true body and blood of Christ; (2) Confess their sins as explained in our membership classes; (3) Seek the assurance of forgiveness, and (4) Intend, with God's help, to amend their sinful life.

Wine Tasting Fellowship Event: Please mark your calendars for this year's Wine Tasting Fellowship Event this Saturday, May 19th at 6:00 p.m. This event is hosted by the Fellowship Committee and Mike & Judy Minson have graciously offered their Hill Country home in Cordillera Ranch. Graduate Sunday May 26th! Come celebrate God's gifts to this year's grduates as they come together to honor GHog and renew their commitment to Him at the 10:30 worship service. If you have either a high school or college graduate, please fill out the green graduate form placed in your family box or pick up one from the table outside Kelly's office and return to the basket outside her door. Summer Sunday School Teachers Needed! Even though we may take a vacation from our work/school routines we never take a vacation from learning about Jesus, Please volunteer to take a Sunday or two this summer sharing the Good News of the gospel with our children ages 3 yrs. - 5th grade. We have made it easy to pick up a prepared lesson on the table by the office. Please sign-up today so our teachers may have a time of refreshment for a few months. Thank You!
Donations are being received for the modular building we will place at Messiah to expand our ministries and preschool. We are also accepting financial gifts and pledges for a new sign. See the display in the fellowship area of the church.
SKY VBS Opportunities Available: There is never a quiet time in children's ministry! Now that Easter day is behind us, it's time to recruit VBS Volunteers. We have positions available to suit everyone...part-time or full-time we can use you: Crew Leaders (small groups from pre thru 5th grade); No preparation Kitchen/Snack Organizers and helpers Station Leaders; Prop Coordinator (work from home); Craft Leaders (Preschool & Elementary); Registration Table (2 day - 4 days); and Games Leader (Elementary Age Outside). Stop by the VBS table in the fellowship areas today!
Messiah's Adult Education Board requests your input to help establish a small group ministry for members of our congregation and the community. You will find survey forms in your mailbox and on the counter outside the church office. On the form please indicate any support or interest groups in which you would like to. Participate, facilitate, or lead. Important: The groups we offer will be dependent upon volunteers to lead or facilitate them. Each group will determine its own meeting time, place, and duration. Please contact Pastor Rick (830-755-4300) or Dennis Parker (830-229-5509) with questions. Please return your form in the basket on Pastor Rick's office door by May 27th.
Congregational Ministry Meeting on May 20: Per our church constitution we are to hold a Congregational Ministry meeting in May led by the Head Elder. The Board of Lay Ministers has set this meeting for Sunday, May 20th, after the 10:30 a. m. service. We value your attendance, support, and input.
Help Messiah youth fund their mission trips - Help the environment. You can now recycle all your paper products, including newspapers, magazines, printer paper, (but no cardboard and telephone books), by dropping them in the large yellow and green dumpster at the NE entrance to the parking lot. All money received from recycling will go to our youth and their mission trips. Thank You!
Global Link: Messiah Lutheran Church is linked to Taiwan by Graham Guenther, who serves as a GEO missionary. "This month, we helped out with a youth camp for churches from around Taiwan [that belong to the China Evangelical Lutheran Church, the LCMS partner church in Taiwan]. The youth were invited to meet in Xinzhu for a weekend of worshiping and learning more about God. This youth camp was especially powerful because this time, college students took on the responsibilities and were leaders for each of the small groups. Last year, when us North American missionaries helped, we were the leaders of the small groups. It is much easier to relate and share answers when you are able to speak in your native language with people who have likely encountered similar situations. The college students were amazing witnesses to the power of Christ's love. When I was their age, I would not have been comfortable helping in the same way that they were able to do. Some of the activities that we did were games, songs and crafts. Overall, it was a great experience for the students to meet peers from other parts of the island that share the same faith that they do. I am already looking forward to the next time that we are able to organize an event like this!"
Children and Youth Sunday Morning Bible Classes.
Play and Worship is a Sunday school class specifically planned with the unique needs of infants, toddlers and their parents in mind. This class creates a nuturing Christ-centered learning environment for parents and their child. This music-focused program helps infants & toddlers discover & learn about God and their great big world. Using stimulating visual, tactile, and auditory experiences this class engaged infants & toddlers connecting them with God's Word. This class is led by Lori Aadsen, Please join us each week at 10:00 a.m. in the nursery.
Adult Sunday Morning Bible Classes.
Sanctuary Bible Class On Sunday, February 19th we will begin a ten week study on the Gospel of Mark. Please join us for this Christian growth classes from 9:15-10:15 a.m. Sunday mornings.
