Alex grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Truman State University in December of 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. During college, God led Alex to pursue education for pastoral ministry after finishing undergraduate studies. He and Erin got married in January of 2015. They lived in campus housing at Concordia Seminary while they waited for first-year classes to begin in the Summer. For two years Alex attended Seminary classes and served as a weekly fieldworker at his home congregation, Abiding Savior Lutheran Church.
Alex and Erin welcomed their wildly energetic son, Jax, into the world in July 2016. Alex served his vicarage year (3rd year) of Seminary at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Edmond, Oklahoma. The Lahue family returned to St. Louis for a final year of Seminary education. This was a year filled with much growth, learning, and hardship. In May of 2019, their beloved daughter, Talliah, went to be with Jesus not long after being born.
After taking the Summer off, Alex, Erin, and Jax moved to Texas to begin a new journey with their Messiah family. Alex currently serves as a pastor at Messiah Lutheran Church in Boerne, TX. Alex enjoys doing it all: acting silly with Jax, playing board games with friends, watching TV with Erin, playing music, playing any kind of sport, riding his longboard in the church parking lot, and spending time with people.
Alex loves to serve as a pastor and cannot wait to see what God will do next for Messiah Lutheran Church and its surrounding community.
