Messiah Missions
Together we make up the body of Christ, each with our different spiritual gifts, serving as hands and feet, legs and arms, to serve where God has placed us and planted those desires in our hearts. Therefore, we have many different areas to serve, whether at Messiah or in our community. Join us sometime.
I Peter 4:10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:

Hill Country Daily Bread

Messiah members contribute directly to Hill Country Daily Bread by collecting school clothes in August, food items in November, and other items as the need arises to give to families in the community. They also have a mentoring program where a trained mentor can help a child in need by being there for them.

Hill Country Pregnancy Care Center

From Mother's Day to Father's Day, we can contribute through the Baby Bottle Boomerang. Bottles will be available at Messiah. The Hill Country Pregnancy Center was created to promote the sanctity of life and empower individuals to make Christ-centered choices regarding pregnancy and sexuality, and extend the healing presence and love of Jesus Christ. At the Center, a client is treated with care and respect and will receive accurate and honest information on an array of subjects, including pregnancy symptoms, abortion, adoption, parenting, STD, and sexual health in either English or Spanish. Services are always free and confidential. Staff and volunteers are extensively trained, and licensed nurses provide medical services under the direction of a medical doctor. The Center is always open to volunteer assistance, with each volunteer undergoing a training program.

Lutheran Braille Workers

We meet at a ministry center in San Antonio to share the gospel message by making Christian materials and Bibles in Braille. They are made in English, Spanish, and 14 other languages and are free of charge to people who are blind or visually impaired throughout the world. We meet on the first Wednesday of each month and are always open to adding new people to the group.

Messiah Sowers

The Messiah Sowers make quilts for those baptized and the youth graduating. They are now making blankets, burp pads for the Hill Country Pregnancy Care Center, and lap quilts for the Women's Shelter. Until they can meet again in the Church, the Sowers take material home and sew at their convenience. If you like to sew, want to learn to sew, cut material, or like to help in any way, please join them.

LINC South Texas

The Lutheran Intercity Network Coalition (LINC) equips Christians in South Texas to engage their community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We identify needs around the city and seek strategies to help meet them; we help people implement their ideas for new ministries, and we build networks among Christians interested in the same kinds of outreach. We do the ongoing work of growing a network that links caring people with people who need to be cared for. We foster sustainable ministries that lead to developing relationships between Christians and non-Christians. From these relationships come the opportunities to speak the Word of God to open ears and ready hearts. Our goal is Kingdom expansion to the glory of our risen Savior Jesus.

Arrive by 8:45 am to make coffee;
Arrive by 9:00 am with breakfast goodies;
Arrive by 10 am to set up tables and chairs in the foyer to create social space for those who did not come to Bible Study but are early for Worship;
Arrive by 10:10 am to greet those arriving for worship; or
Put up the chairs and tables after worship.
