“The Right Way to Pray”
Series: Lent 2013
Have you ever used room service? I'll have a little of this and a little of that. Magically, it shows up at your door or maybe is was as convenient as opening the small fridge. Many people view prayer in this way, as a 24 hour convenience store where we can stop in for refreshment, entertainment, or maybe rest up a bit. All we have to do is leave some green. It can be said that we have turned God into a spiritual bellhop. All we have to do is ring the bell and poof there is our request. The disciples had a simple answer to not understanding, they asked the divine teacher for the answer/example. Pastor Rick tonight discusses the model that was put forth by our Lord. Who to pray to! Pray in the right way! Pray for the right thing (hint: it's not your will)! Pray for the blessings that our Father in heaven generously gives to the faithful. We invite you to listen as we learn to "Pray the Right Way!"

    “Love for the Lost”
    Series: Lent 2013
Jesus commonly had run-ins with the "Religious gentry" during his ministry. In today's Gospel lesson from Luke, the law abiding leaders were standing off, looking down their noses at Jesus, this man who dared to associate with the likes of prostitutes, drunkards, swindlers, the lowly and defiled of the population. Walk with Pastor Rick as he explores the everlasting presence of The Loving Father. The Loving Father that awaits for the lost to crest the hill so He can run and embrace us, rejoicing that which was dead is alive again and restored to Him. We can find ourselves today hard pressed to offer the love that Christ has shown to those we feel are unworthy, but there is the sin of the oldest son and our sin. All are precious to The Father and as much as we long for the reconciliation of this world to Him, we forget our call to deliver the gospel to EVERYONE, for all our precious in His sight, Amen!

    “A New Lease on Life”
    Series: Lent 2013
Not a place in time, since The Fall, have we not seen man made, natural, or endured personal disasters. We were created to enjoy an eternal righteous relationship with God, but we brought sin into a perfect world and created a divide. The result of our fall was we brought a final disaster upon ourselves, Death! Physical and spiritual death! Some leaders in the church have fallen into a trap that Jesus warned us about in the gospel of Luke. Those that died, are they really more sinful than you and I? All are guilty, none are blameless, but wait I'm a "good" person. The Bible tells that there is only one truly good person and the rest of us our sinners. The question is not "why do bad things happen to good people, but why do good things happen to us sinners at all?" As the Spirit brings us to the knowledge of our need for repentance, this knowledge blossoms faith in us that believes in the One who provides growth into eternal life. We are blessed daily through Christ's act of perfect love on the cross, to receive forgiveness and salvation daily! We invite you to listen to Pastor Rick as he guides us through "A New Lease on Life." Amen!

    “Awake at Night”
    Series: Lent 2013
What keeps you up at night? Or, are you blessed to be able to sleep through anything? For some of us the reasons may be too numerous to spell out; job, finances, relationships, non-confessed transgressions, the list could be endless. As we continue to look at our Lord in prayer this Lenten season, Pastor Rick talks about what kept Jesus up at night in the gospel of Luke chapter 6. Who is the one that hears all our prayers, who is the one that can shoulder our burdens. Jesus asked his Father this night to intercede in the choosing of apostles. Those that would be sent to proclaim the good news. Jesus would come back again to intercede for the apostles the night before his death and Jesus continues to intercede for us now. We invite you to listen with us as we continue to learn from our Lord's example, what it means to pray. Hear God's word and take comfort: "1 I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? 2 My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. 3 He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand. 6 The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. 8 The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore." - Psalm 121, ESV

    “Return to Christ’ Path”
    Series: Lent 2013
In last weeks sermon Pastor Aaron talked about our "Two Most Loyal Companions." and this week he continues along that path using Jeremiah 26:8-15. What if you don't feel in the faith? What if we, the church, are happy walking in the false comfort of Satan's false promises? The prophet Jeremiah was telling the church to repent, confess, and return to Christ. The congregations reaction at that time, "Let's kill him!" Do we find ourselves now comfortable in our sin because on the earthly scale it isn't any one of the "Big Sins"? We have a loving God and Savior who yearns to be our hearts desire. Among our many transgressions, large or small it does not matter, God gives grace and mercy even when we deserve death. We invite you to listen to today's sermon and "Return to Christ' Path." Amen!
  • Feb 20, 2013“Alone in a Crowd”
    Feb 20, 2013
    “Alone in a Crowd”
    Series: Lent 2013
In this sermon Pastor Aaron looks at the Gospel lesson and after Jesus healed the leper, others approached to be healed, Jesus faced with much to do....withdrew and Prayed! Martin Luther would pray 3 to 4 hours a day, but when he had even more to do that day he did not pray less, he prayed more. We invite you to listen to his sermon and walk with our Lord Jesus to dark Gethsemane and spend a bitter hour learning to pray as our Savior prays! Father let your name be glorified, Amen!
